What artwork is your most successful? - A while back we did a program empty bowls. Everyone in an art class had to make a bowl. At the even people would go and buy a bowl; Someone bought my bowl, thats why I say this is my most successful project.
I don't have an image of the bowl because it was purchased.
Discuss one project where you overcame the most obstacles? - One project that I over came the most obstacles is the one I'm currently working on. Me and a friend are working together on this sculpture. We had to built a two part mold so that we could keep producing the same two cars multiple times. We also started building a track for the cars. It's a series of roads and bridges connecting. Some obstacles we faced were when building the two piece mold was when building the frame we kept making wrong measurements and the frame wouldn't fit. Another obstacle was we had to get it approved to display it when we finished. Me and Alexander had to go to the principal to get it approved. we persuaded him to let us so thats when we began building.
What 2 artworks show your growth as an artist? - The first piece would be the track because we have to do many different things to it so that it may go together more easily such as reinforcing the stands on the bottom of the clay to hold up the bridge. Another thing is letting the clay harden a little so it doesn't cave in. The second piece is isn't really a sculpture, but a mold I learned new skills making this two piece mold. It wasn't difficult, but time consuming.
Being self paced is really great you don't have to rush to meet a specific deadline, but we try not to take an advantage of it. Picking your own theme is also good because you can pick what theme you like most and build very creative sculptures.
